What happened to “May I help you?” Anyway, I go on to explain to the Gift Shop Manager what had occurred. The manager comes out and asks “Who wanted to see me?” I was definitely not expecting that approach. I explained that I did not want the other guests disturbed just because MY children were having a negative outburst. The woman at the check out counter looked at me as if I had two heads when I explained my situation. We all head back to the entrance/ticket counter/gift shop and I assumed I would have no problems getting my money back. So I decided, maybe this is not a good day for Flamingo Gardens. We figured we’d go see the flamingos and other attractions before going on the tram. My mother and daughter were going to ride except that my daughter began to tantrum when she saw me get off. To avoid any problems or keep any one else on the tram from having a good experience, I took my son off. The minute we get on the tram my 2 year old son begins to have a tantrum. The next tram was leaving at 1 PM, so we walked over to the tram station. The kids were free because they are both 3 and under. I paid my mother’s and my admission plus extra for the tram ride. Well, on I took my mother and my children to Flamingo Gardens to enjoy (what I thought was going to be) a great afternoon. When I moved back to the area, I was actually very excited to visit Flamingo Gardens again. Before moving to TN, I visited Flamingo Gardens with my children. I am a single mother of two toddlers who has recently moved back to the Pembroke Pines, FL area after living in TN for 2 years. The sister Gardens called Fairchild is a LONG drive into S Miami. Sawgrass Mills is quite large, and you will be able to enter off of Flamingo, or turn L onto Sunrise, and stay in R lane until you see the entrances. Go back PAST the I 595 and continue to you see signage for Sawgrass Mills. When you exit Flamingo Gardens.turn R onto Flamingo Road. I think you will see Flamingo GArdens on your L about 2 miles S.if you pass it.just make a u turn where possible. I 595 to exit at Flamingo Road.as you exit, stay to the LEFT. Stay on US Rt One to just before the airport, and note the entrance to I 595 W. To make it even more worth the trip, I would spend the AM at Flamingo Gardens ( on Flamingo Road) and then head N on Flamingo Road.to Sawgrass Mills.įrom Ft LAuderdale beach, go on A1A N to a right turn on US Route One. ![]() There is also gardens and animals ( this is a place that takes injured small(er) animals and helps breed them so the offspring can br released. It was used to help develop different forms of citrus, was attached to very large orange & citrus groves ( now mostly housing) and they distributed the citrus to their stores in Ft Lauderdale & Hollywood and were an early shipper out of Port Everglades after Lake Mable was opened via the 'cut'.Ĭurrently, it has small sections devoted to growing different types of consumable products & native Everglades & swamp life A tram tour will bring you though these areas. ![]() ![]() This was one of the Wray families (I think from Michigan) "lab" homes. The home is part of the tour.
